The Trailhead Bar and Restaurant is set to open in downtown Lynchburg

The Trailhead Bar and Restaurant is coming to downtown Lynchburg. They will be open next to Bikes Unlimited on Jefferson Street through the end of October.

Trailhead owner John Seinar said he wanted his new venue to offer a unique experience.

“We want to be the beginning or the end of your adventure in the city,” he said. “We have some great appetizers, we have good wine and great beer on offer here.” We have a tap system for everyone to pour themselves. There’s a super friendly atmosphere outside, but inside there’s a bit of intimate seating.

Seinar said they have something for everyone, both adventurers and families. He said the trailhead was a place where he could combine his love of exploration with a comfortable gathering place.

“We saw a need for a really low-cost, but fun, family-oriented space downtown,” Seinar said. “We want it to be super accessible to anyone who is out there… I just wanted a place I could go before or after any type of outdoor activity. A place where I can just hang out and let my kids run free and be safe, and we just have a great, affordable option for that here.

The trailhead is located right at the entrance to Blackwater Creek Trail and Percival’s Island.

Hence the name Trailhead,” Seinar said. “It will be a great place to come here and rent a bike.” Afterwards, have a beer or a coke, whatever you like. We also have some great dining options.

There is both outdoor and indoor seating for people to enjoy their food and drinks. Your outdoor space features a fire pit and a covered deck and patio overlooking the Blackwater Creek Trail.

“It’s a dream come true,” Seinar said. “The outside is a super friendly environment with a little bit of intimate seating inside.”

Seinar said he looks forward to continuing the growth of downtown Lynchburg.

“The business partnership and atmosphere downtown is incredible. All the business owners downtown are super welcoming. We’re really excited for people to come downtown and experience this. We want to be the launching pad, so to speak, for your evening… you.” Start here and then maybe head downtown to Waterdog, Waterstone or Shoemakers or El Mariachi. Or come here after dinner. We have one of the best outdoor areas, a great campfire pit “deck and patio, so it would be a great place to end the evening too,” he said.

They are planning a soft opening for October 25th and a grand opening party for early November.
