First alarm forecast:

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – High pressure will continue to dominate our forecast for the weekend, keeping us dry and comfortable. Temperatures are expected to be slightly warmer, especially through Sunday, with highs possible in the upper 80s to near 90s. Otherwise, the weather is great for all outdoor plans!

Thanks to our next cold front, the above-average temperatures won’t last long. The front will bring much cooler and drier air to central and southwest Mississippi early next week. Highs are expected to only be around 70 degrees for most of the week, while lows will be a bit chilly in the 40s. This will likely be the coolest weather so far this season and since April.

Talkin’ Tropics: The remnants of Milton continue to stretch east across the Atlantic. The NHC highlights an area in the Far Eastern Atlantic with medium probability of development. This could briefly develop into a short-lived storm as it remains afloat.
