12-year-old Kulgam boy develops gas leak detector and humidity sensor – Rising Kashmir

Kulgam, October 11: Momin Ishaq, a 12-year-old innovator from Munad Guffan village in Kulgam district, has once again impressed with his creativity.
This time he has developed a gas leak detector to prevent accidents caused by gas leaks.
Momin, who is in fourth grade, has already made a name for himself with several inventions, including an egg incubator, a fire alarm and a multitasking device.
Talking to Rising Kashmir, he said that his latest creation, the gas leak detector, was inspired by incidents where gas leaks led to accidents.
Powered by a battery and equipped with sensors, the device detects gas in the air and triggers an alarm and light to warn people of potential dangers. “I used a battery, a sensor, a power adapter, a cutting plate and other instruments to complete the task gadget at home. Not only does it provide light, but it also sounds an alarm when it detects gas, helping to prevent damage,” said Momin.
In addition to the gas detector, Momin also introduced a “humidity detector” designed to provide plants with moisture. The sensor installed in flower pots monitors the moisture content in the soil. When the soil becomes dry, a water pipe is automatically activated to water the plant.
Momin, who has been experimenting with innovation for several years, said his journey is just beginning. “I have a lot of ideas, but I need support to turn them into reality,” he said, calling for support to further develop his creations.
Despite his young age, Momin’s innovative thinking has the potential to have a significant impact not only in his village but beyond.
