More than 50,000 runners and over a million spectators will soon line the streets of Chicago as the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon passes through the city’s iconic landmarks and neighborhoods.

From race start times to other weekend marathon events, here’s everything you need to know about the 46th annual Bank of America Chicago Marathon.

When will the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon take place?

The 46th Bank of America Chicago Marathon will take place on Sunday, October 13th.

When does the Chicago Marathon start?

The race officially begins at 7:20 a.m. CT with the Men’s Marathon Wheelchair.

Thursday, October 10th

11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. — Abbott Health & Fitness Expo; Package pickup at McCormick Place, Lakeside Center

Friday, October 11th

9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. — Abbott Health & Fitness Expo; Package pickup at McCormick Place, Lakeside Center, Hall D

Saturday, October 12th

7:30 a.m. — Abbott Chicago 5K

Where is the starting line?

The starting line of the Chicago Marathon is located in Grant Park at the intersection of Columbus Drive and Monroe Street.

Where is the finish line?

The Bank of America Chicago Marathon finish line is in Grant Park on Columbus Drive, south of Balbo Drive. Spectators are not allowed to greet runners at the finish line, but can line up early to get a good viewing spot in a Bank of America cheer zone.

How to watch the 2024 Chicago Marathon

Where:

The race begins and ends in Grant Park, but extends just beyond downtown, passing through 29 neighborhoods and some of Chicago’s most famous streets.

The 26.2-mile hike takes runners across six Chicago River bridges and stretches from Sheridan Road in the north to 35th Street in the south.
