1 man and 2 teenagers charged in shooting at Wendy’s restaurant in Columbia

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) – A man and two teenagers have been charged in connection with a shooting at a Wendy’s restaurant in Columbia.

The Columbia Police Department (CPD) said 20-year-old Javonte Sutton and two 15-year-olds were arrested after they allegedly shot a 25-year-old man in the lower body at a Wendy’s on Newland Road.

According to police, the trio is accused of plotting to shoot him after an earlier argument. The 25-year-old was taken to a hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Sutton was charged with attempted murder, criminal conspiracy, possession of a weapon during a crime of violence, discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was housed at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

The 15-year-olds are both charged with attempted murder, criminal conspiracy, possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle and possession of a handgun by a person under 18. They were taken to the South Carolina Division of Juvenile Justice.
