A warm weekend in Houston before our first fall front!

Forecast for Friday:

HOUSTON – Friday will be very similar to Thursday. We will wake up in the 50s and 60s with sunny skies and low humidity. Our temperatures will warm quickly, with forecast highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s. It should still feel pretty good in low humidity.

Friday night football will feel amazing! Temperatures will cool quickly into the lower 70s. The humidity is low. Perfect for the games!

Weekend forecast:

It’s mid-October, so there’s plenty to do in Southeast Texas! We have the Bayou City Art Festival, the Round Top Antique Fair, the Texas Renaissance Festival and lots of great football games.

This weekend brings sunny skies, low humidity and warm temperatures. The dry air dominating our forecast will keep our daily temperature swings quite large with cool mornings and very warm afternoons.

Highs will be in the 90s. Keep in mind that we have never hit 90° in November, so this might be our last weekend in the 90s this year!

First cold front:

Finally, we have a big cooldown on our extended forecast. A dry cold front will move into our area on Tuesday, bringing highs into the 70s and lows into the 50s. This officially ends our hurricane season.

Temperatures ahead of the front will feel very hot on Tuesday. Highs on Monday will be in the mid 90s. Tuesday will be the transition day with highs in the 80s as cooler air slowly moves in. On Wednesday we will have highs in the 70s, very refreshing!

Tuesday is October 15th, which is actually quite seasonal for the arrival of our first fall front! Last year and 2021, our first major cold front arrived in mid-October. Next week’s front will be quite strong and will push us back into the 70s and 50s. The first really BIG success may have to wait until the end of the month.

On the trail of the tropics:

Milton is afloat again today and moving east in the Atlantic. There is a 40% chance that another tropical wave will form in the Atlantic over the next seven days. There is no immediate threat to the Gulf of Mexico.

10 day forecast:

Our next cold front is expected on Tuesday next week. Since it’s a dry cold front, we won’t see any storms. We will see highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s! It should feel great.
