Nintendo is officially releasing two free games this weekend that you can download and play

I honestly thought Nintendo had forgotten about this franchise

Nintendo just announced that two classic Game Boy Advance games are coming to the Nintendo Switch this weekend, both free for Nintendo Switch Online members.

And fans of Nintendo franchises that don’t get much attention might not want to miss this game, because they’re both F-Zero games.

As announced via Nintendo of America’s official Twitter page, both F-ZERO Climax And F-Zero: GP legend land on the Nintendo Switch this weekend.

F1 fans will no doubt be thrilled to have something to fill their inflated holes this weekend. Oh, and I guess F-zero The fans will also be happy.

F-Zero: GP legend was originally released in Japan for the GBA in 2003 and would later be released in North America the following year.

F-ZERO Climax however, is probably the film that will excite F-Zero fans the most, as there was never an official release outside of Japan.

Pokémon Legends ZA will be released next year and will be a launch title for Switch 2.

Although F-ZERO Climax was re-released on the Japanese Virtual Console Wii U in 2015, but an English translation of the game didn’t see the light of day until 2021.

However, these translation efforts were a fan affair, so the re-release on the Nintendo Switch is actually the first time the game has received an official English translation.

F-ZERO Climax also marked the last F-zero Titles for around 20 whole years, a series that was only interrupted by the release of F-zero 99 back in September last year.

Before the publication of F-zero 99Fans of the series had been begging Nintendo to revisit it. Most assumed they would never see another release in the franchise.

But the publication of F-zero 99and the re-release of both F-ZERO Climax And F-Zero: GP legendimplies that Nintendo may not be quite done with the series yet. Perhaps this means a new entry could be closer than we all thought.
