Football Battles background music tonight

While their slim hopes of a playoff spot ended last week, the Melcher-Dallas football squad still has a few games left. The Saints travel to BGM tonight hoping to pull off an upset and shake up District Seven. The Saints played very shorthanded last week due to injuries, which contributed to their 55-22 loss to Moravia. Coach Jason Mason tells KNIA Sports that he may have to use a few younger players tonight, but he hopes they mesh well with his more experienced players who can play.

Mason: “Some of these younger kids get to play next week. Hopefully our upperclassmen will pick them up and show them how to be leaders next year.”

The Bears are on a rare three-game losing streak and would likely need to win against Moravia tonight and next week to clinch a playoff spot. Kick-off is set for 7:00 a.m.
